Standards are the part you don't have to invent

Standards alignment is a measurement, not a badge. You don't earn it by saying the words — you earn it by holding your architecture up against a standard you didn't write and seeing where it holds.

The OWASP GenAI Security Project is exactly that kind of external reference: serious, independently-arising technical work on agentic security, governance, and controls. It is our first community-front specimen — a body worth measuring against precisely because it isn't ours.

The discipline is to keep their language intact rather than translate it into ours. Where "runtime agent authorization" or "agentic security controls" lands against a governed-crossing model is a relationship to record, not a rename to perform. Standards are the part you don't have to invent — you just have to measure against them honestly.
