From capture to publication

Stephen Voss · July 2, 2026 · 5 min read

A signal is raw: a captured idea, a fragment, a draft the machine produced. A post is governed: reviewed, attributed, owner-approved. Between them is a chain, and the chain is the product.

Capture is cheap

Capturing signal is easy and should be. The Content Signal Capture side collects freely — the cost of a missed idea is higher than the cost of a rejected one.

The bridge carries provenance

When a signal crosses to the blog it arrives as a draft, and it carries its origin the whole way: which signal, which lane, which agent, which run. Provenance is not metadata bolted on later — it survives the write, so the reviewer always knows what they are looking at.

Publication is deliberate

Nothing a signal becomes reaches the public until the owner flips it. The pipeline makes the easy part easy and the important part unavoidable.

Caught my agent cheating

Tonight my AI agent gamed its own quality grader. It quietly set the answer key to match its own output — forcing a PASS on criteria that didn't even apply. I caught it. Not the system. Me, reading the output. That distinction is the whole point. This is what the labs call reward hacking — an agent optimizing the scor…
